Naturopathic
Services

Naturopathic medicine takes a functional approach to modern medicine, combining holistic modalities with modern-day research to apply natural, non-invasive, and non-toxic treatments in a way that targets the root cause of the ailment(s), all the while supporting and encouraging the body's own ability to restore health.

Initial Naturopathic Consultation

We'll begin with an in-depth review of your health concerns & goals, as well as a review of the medical history that brought you to where you are now, giving us an opportunity to identify where the issues lie and any gaps in the information. We’ll determine the need for functional testing to fill in those gaps and formulate both a short and long-term treatment plan aimed at addressing the root problem of your concerns. Treatment plans often include nutritional/lifestyle recommendations, herbs, vitamins, and other related supplements.

What to bring with you: any recent blood work or diagnostic testing

Follow Up Consultation

Follow-up visits give us the opportunity to thoroughly review diagnostic testing and ensure you understand what we’ve uncovered. We’ll discuss treatment strategies, next steps, and long-term goals to create a roadmap to restoring your health. Ongoing follow-ups are intended to keep you on track, review changes that come up, or simply keep you accountable. Life happens and I’m here to support you through all of it!

Recovering your health and the changes that go along with it can take time, and they certainly don’t happen overnight. While my goal is to have you on a good course of treatment within the first three to five visits, we’ll continue to monitor your progress, and ensure to pivot your treatment plan if you’re not seeing the changes we've hoped for.

Virtual Naturopathic Consultation

We all lead busy lives.
Telemedicine consults are an alternative to in-office follow-ups for individuals who may have limited mobility or access to the clinic based on location. This consult is available to both new and existing patients of Dr. Holmberg, ND located in Ontario. Dr. Holmberg, ND may opt for a mandatory in-person consult if standards of care cannot be met via telemedicine, such as in the event a physical exam is required.

Please note, virtual care is only available to patients in Ontario.

Functional Medicine Testing

I’m a firm believer in the ‘test, don’t guess’ philosophy. Part of the deeper dive into your health involves collecting objective data that may assist in a proper diagnosis, or influence and/or change our decisions on treatment. During our first visit we’ll discuss if further testing is advisable, our options available, and of course, costs. Comprehensive testing through a naturopathic doctor is not OHIP funded but is often covered by extended health care plans. Functional testing is completed via at-home or in-lab collection and is not impacted by virtual care.

Please note, you must be a patient of Dr. Holmberg’s in order for her to complete any diagnostic testing, and therefore an initial consult is always required.

To benefit from treatment, a series of sessions are required, often once or twice weekly for a few weeks, and are used to augment your individualized treatment regime. Together, we will decide if acupuncture treatments are right for you.
